Hiba Academy Bay Area will open in Fall 2026 with classes in PK3, PK4, Kindergarten and Grade 1. We will begin accepting formal applications on August 18, 2025.

San Francisco independent schools are remarkably aligned in the effort to simplify the process for applicant families. Admission season begins in August 2025 and decisions will be released citywide in March 2026. Families will have one week to confirm enrollment at their chosen school by signing a contract and submitting a deposit.

Kindergarten Age Requirement

All kindergarten applicants must be 5 years old by September 1, 2026.

Your Hiba Academy Journey Starts by Creating a Ravenna Account.

Ravenna is a secure, intuitive online platform trusted by independent schools across San Francisco. You make a Ravenna profile only once, then select and explore the schools that interest you from the school directory list. Ravenna takes care of the rest. Through Ravenna, you’ll manage your admissions process checklist, register for events, schedule your parent interview, and sign up for your child’s assessment visit.

Jumpstart your application at Hiba Academy by creating a Ravenna profile here.

If you already have a Ravenna profile, all you need to do is log in, find the school directory list and check “explore” Hiba Academy Bay Area.

Application Requirements

To complete the application process, families are required to participate in the following:

Attend an Open House

Our Open Houses offer a chance to learn what makes Hiba Academy unique among bilingual schools. You'll hear directly from our Head of School and founding senior leadership.

Parent/Guardian Interview

This is a time for us to learn more about your family as well as your child’s personality, learning style, and interests. It’s also your opportunity to ask questions about Hiba Academy and the admissions process. Interviews are scheduled after application submission. Students do not attend.

Child Assessment Visit

Our Student Visit Day & Assessment helps our admissions team get to know your child and provide them with a first taste of Hiba Academy. During this visit, parents/guardians will also have the chance to engage in further conversations with our academic leaders about our bilingual curriculum and global school network. Only one adult needs to accompany the student—both parents are not expected to attend.

Zoom options are available for interviews and assessment visits for international and out-of-town families.

Application Components (on Ravenna)

To complete your written application:

Answer the application questions thoughtfully—these help us get to know your child and your family.
Submit a Student Evaluation Form—to be completed by your child’s current teacher, offering insight into their classroom strengths.

Application Deadline

All applications and student evaluation forms for PK3, PK4, Kindergarten, and Grade 1 are due December 18, 2025.

Making the Match: Admissions Events

As the Admission season unfolds, we have set up multiple ways to connect with you, answer your questions, and share our vision for San Francisco’s newest bilingual international school. While some events are required, others are recommended or optional. Feel free to attend only those that support your decision-making process.

You do not need to submit an application before attending events, Heart-to-Heart Meeting, or learning more about our Clarity Financial Aid platform

Heart to Heart Family Conversations (optional)

Homa Hanjani will welcome prospective families for Heart-to-Heart conversations at our Hiba Nest, located next to our 99 Rhode Island Street campus, on select Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 9:00am, 11:00am, or 2:00pm. You can book your Heart-to-Heart conversation after August 18 by logging into your profile on Ravenna.

Open Houses (Required to attend at least one)

You’re invited to attend at least one of our monthly Open Houses. Here you will meet our school leaders, learn about what sets us apart from other bilingual schools in the city, and find out everything you need to know about enrolling your child at Hiba Academy. Use Ravenna to register. We especially encourage you to save the date and join us at our special October 18 event featuring our Founder, Joy Qiao:

Admission Decision and Enrollment

Independent schools in San Francisco typically make admission decisions in mid-March 2026. Admission decisions will be posted confidentially on the Ravenna site. Families will have one week to enroll by signing the contract and submitting a deposit. During that week, we will welcome families to our Admitted Family Reception—a chance to meet fellow families, connect with our community, and feel confident and excited about joining Hiba Academy Bay Area!

Founding Family Welcome Events

After enrollment, Hiba Academy Bay Area Founding Families will participate in a community onboarding process. This will include a series of celebratory welcoming events, such as the new campus ribbon cutting ceremony at 99 Rhode Island Street.

Shortly before the school year starts, children and parents will be invited to orientation events, including opportunities to meet the teachers and visit the classrooms.

If you have any questions, our Admissions Team is here to support you every step of the way. We look forward to getting to know your family! Feel free to reach out to us at admissions.bayarea@hibaacademy.org.
